Grosvenor G Piccadilly Casino

The Grosvenor G Casino on Coventry Street is right in the heart of the West End. It´s not the biggest casino (you definitely won´t get the Las Vegas experience here), but we have always rated the staff who have been friendly, helpful and courteous when we´ve been. They help out people who are new to the games- it feels like a less intimidating atmosphere if you just enjoy an occasional flutter on the tables or the slots. You can also play roulette at the Grosvenor Online Casino– we have tested them out- check out the review in our online roulette casinos section. If you have been to one of their “land-based” casinos, you can claim a free £20 bonus in the online casino.

Just why we´re on that- the term “Land-Based Casino”. Is that just a weird term, or is it just us that are weird? It kind of suggests there are “Air-Based Casinos” and “Water-Based Casinos”. I guess you get river boat casinos.

The decor is looking a little tired when you first come in, but it gets batter as you walk through into the main gaming hall.

It needs a bit of money spending on it (the gaming area is nice with a pretty impressive high ceiling. The casino is housed in a Grade II listed building). If we are in that area, we´d probably head for the Hippodrome Casino which is just down the road in Leicester Square. But it depends on the time. Both casino have a late night drinking licence, so they get popular when the pubs shut over the weekends.

Grosvenor´s G Casino in Piccadilly is right in the heart of the West End.

Grosvenor Casino Piccadilly

Grosvenor Casino Piccadilly has a restaurant, bar, sports & entertainment lounge, poker room and a conference room. They offers Roulette, Blackjack and Poker tables and quite a few IGT slot games like Cleopatra and Lucky Lady’s Charm.

You head in off the street, walk past the entrance and then it´s straight on for the tables where all the roulette and blackjack action is. At the very end is the bar, and if you look up you´ll see the slots mezzanine floor (you need to head back to the entrance and take the stairs to your left to get up there, or take the sweeping staircase up to the right of the bar.

On the top floor, if you head back in the direction of the street through the slots and video roulette area, you´ll get to a nicely sized bar overlooking the street (this could definitely do with a refurb), There´s also a balcony at the front which is normally used by the smokers (you can´t take drinks out).

It´s all very compact and cosy, but then the plus side is its location.

Roulette Tables

There are four roulette tables (European Roulette, minimum bet £1 centred around the middle of the room. Towards to back on the right are 8 video roulette terminals plus a Pinball Roulette game.

Each of the tables sits 5 players, plus standing room of course- it can get quite lively here on Saturday nights!

If you head up to the slots area, there are 2 levels. On the upper level, you´ll find lots more video roulette terminals. They have 10p, 25p and 50p machines up here and a couple of £1 machines. The decor is pretty impressive in the gaming area.

Summary

So is this the best casino in London? Well, no, it´s a bit small to make that claim, but it is housed in a pretty impressive building and the staff are very helpful. If we were going for a special casino night out we´d probably head to the Hippodrome first, but we´ve also popped in here on a whim and enjoyed ourselves. They do have a big choice of video roulette (head upstairs) and 4 European tables downstairs.
