Play Call Bets at these Casinos

If you are playing a premium online roulette like 3D Roulette or Roulette Premier Diamond, or you are sitting in a casino at the higher stakes tables, chance are that you’ll come across some more exotic bets called the “Call Bets” (sometimes know as “The French Bets”, as they generally have French names).

In a land-based casino, call bets are made by announcing to the croupier what you wish to bet, rather than placing a more simple bet yourself. You might call ot “Red Splits” for example. This just means its easier for players to bet some of the more complex combinations. If you are playing roulette online, you make the bet obviously. The better variants have options that allow you to make these more complex bets.

Call Bets or Announced Bets?

Strictly speaking on a call bet in a land-based casino, you don’t to actually place any chips on the table; you just announces your Call Bet, and the croupier marks the bet for you. In the UK, this is illegal by the way, as this is seen as betting on credit.

Instead, most high stake players make announced bets. You still call out your bet. But you must have enough funds or chips on the table to cover the bet. In practice, they amount to the same thing in most cases, particularly online.

Types of Call Bets

Voisins du zero: the “neighbours of zero”. The basic version is a 9 chip bet over 17 numbers between 22 and 25 on a European Roulette wheel — all of the numbers sitting next to the zero on the wheel. So 22,19 (split) 18, 21 (split), 4, 7 (split) , 12, 15 (split), 25, 26, 28, 29 (square bet), 32, 35 (split), 0,2,3 (3 number bet).

Tiers du cylindre: a bet on the 12 numbers that lie opposite the zero (on the wheel): a six chip bet covering the numbers between 27 and 33: 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33.

Orphelins: The orphans is made up of the remaining eight numbers that aren’t covered by the above bets, normally using 5 chips

There are two sets of the Orphelins on either side: 17, 34, 6 and 1, 20, 14, 31, 9.

Final Bet
You bet on every number ending in the same number. So “final 5″ would be a bet on 5, 15, 25 and 35 (4 chip bet).
