Deck the Halls slot

Here is another one of those classic 5 reel video slot games that we keep coming back to, even though some of the graphics are looking a bit tired next to the newer games with their fancy video clips and animations.

But you know what? The game play on the Deck the Halls video slot is great, and anyway, we quite like playing on Old School slots from time to time.

The same goes for other classics like Mermaids Millions and the big progressive- the Mega Moolah jackpot slot. Well, we play that one because of the multi-million pound jackpots of course.

Deck the Halls Slot Review

Deck the Halls is a 5 reel, 30 line festive slots game (unlike the newer 243 Ways games like the Bikini Party slot) that’s all Christmassy, and should get you in the mood even out of season! The background music is Partridge in a Pear Tree when you first start off in the base game. Don’t worry- if you get into the free spins round, you will start to hear Deck the Halls!

If you like your high variance slots, you’ll love this game as it is pretty volatile.

What we mean by that, is that it can swing from being pretty low key to pretty hot, so you’ll need a decent bank-roll to see you through the slow periods. That being said, it can launch off into some pretty hot runs, which is one of the reasons why we like the game so much. But then that’s our preference.

If you prefer a slot that doesn’t get your ticker beating at such a high speed, we’d recommend something like Game of Thrones or one of the Playtech games (try our free Top Gun slot for example).

So let’s clear away some of the Christmas glitter, and see what the Deck the Halls slot has in its engine.

Pros and Cons

  • All Wins in the Free spins are Doubled
  • Re-trigger the Free games in the Bonus
  • Stacked Wilds in the Bonus
  • Highly Volatile (this will be a pro for some of course)
  • Looking a bit dated. Let’s be kind and call it a “classic”.

How to Play Deck the Halls

Just like Mermaids Millions, you can choose the amount of activated pay-lines you want to play, plus your coin size and the number of coins you want to play on each activated pay-line.

You can play from 1- 30 pay-lines, with 1 to 10 coins on each pay-line. Coin sizes vary from just a penny to 50p. So your minimum bet is 1p and your maximum is £150.

The one cool thing about this game is that you can retrigger free spins in the free spins round. As we said earlier, this slot can go hot! You just need to get in there.

Free Spins Bonus

You trigger the free spins with 3 or more scatters anywhere on the reels. The scatters are the Christmas bells, and you will get 10 free spins (you might get more if you retrigger). The Wild symbols (Deck the Halls logo) stack in the bonus round. Scatter wins are multiplied by the total bet staked.

Plus, all free spins wins are doubled. It’s all about getting into the free spins bonus game if you can! You can win up to 2,400,000 coins

The Deck the Halls logo is wild and will stand in for other symbols to make up the highest win. They stack in the free spins round (they don’t in the base game). If you get 5 Deck the Halls wilds, you win 4000x your bet
The Father Christmas logo stacks in both the base game and the bonus game. 5 Santas with his letter and quill pen will land you 1000x your bet. All Wins are multiplied by coins staked per line.

That’s it! A pretty straightforward game, but with that ever important ability to re-trigger free spins in the bonus game. Theoretically the free spins could go on and on. In practice, they are finite of course.

Summary

A great slot which remains one of our favourites. Who cares if the graphics are looking a little dated when the game play is this good?
